Once the weather drops a few degrees it’s officially blanket season. However if you’re like me you’ll probably be using them all year round. Whether you’re someone who enjoys having the heating blasting, more economical or sitting by the fire, you can’t beat the extra warmth and comfort that a blanket gives.
I’ve been reviewing 4 different blankets, all with different materials, sizes and price tags to see which one offers the most.
I’ve got blankets from Wayfair, Made to Last, Terrys Fabrics & Cotton & Olive. Ranging in price from £24.99 – £99.99.

Terrys Fabrics:
FatFace – Sai Throw Charcoal (£65.00)
First up we’re going to look at this beauty. The Sai textured throw designed by FatFace is both stylish and cosy, adding a unique and textured detail to any home! It’s made from a beautiful mixture of cotton and wool, making it super warm and soft to touch.
The design is really beautiful and it’s definitely got the soft feel to it you’d want when getting cosy. I love the tassels on the ends & would really recommend this blanket.
You want something that’s a good size and this one definitely is, enough to share or to keep just you extra warm.
It measures 130cm x 170cm.
Dry clean only which is a shame but expected with this material & design. This range actually does matching cushions and bedding too which is great if you’re a lover of this design.
This one definitely passes all my criteria & would recommend this one to anyone.

Wayfair:
Sophia Throw (Currently on offer at £24.99 – Regular Price is £38.00)
This Two-Tone textured faux fur throw with anti-pill polar fleece reverse is warm and soft, perfect for cold winter nights.
When I think of getting cosy I always think of faux fur blankets. Something about them just makes you feel warm, plus they do always keep you lovely and toasty. This one has a black reverse side. The fur is labelled as silver colour but does have a bluey grey tinge to the colour and is definitely somewhat lighter then the main website photos, which is slightly misleading but never the less its still a beautiful blanket.
Sizing is really big. It’s really long and definitely wide enough to share.
Measuring 152cm x 177cm. It is hand wash only but from previous experience, I’ve found faux fur blankets to be quite resilient and would survive a washing machine wash if it was really necessary.
Overall I’d definitely recommend this one also. It’s really big for snuggling under and lovely and thick for keeping you warm, not to mention so super soft to the touch.
For the price its an absolute bargain at only £24.99

Cotton and Olive
Zigzag Textured Cotton Throw (£30.00)
Cotton and Olive is a small online family run business. Originating from Turkey, they started their business selling traditional Turkish Hammam towels and robes and added their bedspreads & throws as a product variation at a later stage, ensuring their concept of being ‘lightweight and practical’ is present throughout all their products
The packaging was nice, it came wrapped in tissue paper and inside a cardboard box for protection. As a part of their plastic-free packaging scheme, customers are given the option to choose the plastic-free packaging with no extra cost, which I think is a brilliant idea.
Although It’s not a colour I would usually go for, it actually works really well with the grey and the design is really lovely. The Zigzag cotton reversible throw is one of their trademark patterns.
It comes in a few different colours and what I love is that its machine washable & dries quick. Because of the material I see this as being the perfect kind of blanket for using outdoors to keep you warm on a chilly night. It’s very versatile and would work well as a shawl, mini blanket, sofa cover or for layering the bed for a fashionable look and protection.
It’s slightly shorter than I’d like on the width but more than adequate.
It measures 90 x 190cm. 100% cotton & I personally think £30 is a steal for the design and work that goes into it.
