This is bedroom number 2 which is our Daughters bedroom. I love the colour scheme in here with the pinks / greys. She picked out all the colours for her walls and the bed was also her idea.
All the homes we’ve been in have been rented, so she always had the standard magnolia walls and never really had her own girly bedroom. I was so excited to get this room done and we’ve transformed it into a room that she will love for years.
This is the original room when we bought the house, we didn’t live in this house straight away so we rented it out for a short while. The people who rented it from us had a little girl so they did paint this room pink but the old carpet & wardrobes remained.
This was the room when we moved back into the house, at least it was pink as we couldn’t renovate this room straight away, but the hot pink gloss everywhere and old brown wardrobes were still not to our taste and had to eventually go!
First job was to get the whole room skimmed as we had holes in the wall from the rewire and also behind the radiator was years and years of old wallpaper which needed scraping off! You can see the new windows are in place, in time before the room was skimmed.
Once it had been skimmed & dried I had a blank canvas to start painting and get rid of that pink gloss!
The old wardrobes were replaced with white sliding doors
Once the walls were painted and all the gloss was painted white, it was time for a new carpet. The main feature wall is painted in Valspar paint (Unicorn Horn) & the other 3 walls are also Valspar Paint but I can’t remember for the life of me what its called, it was actually a colour from one of their special ranges but they just colour matched the card for me 🙂
What a difference a new carpet makes…..
This carpet is the same one we have in the hall, stairs & landing. It’s so soft and despite its colour its actually so easy to keep clean, stains come out really really easy, much better than our carpets in the sitting/dining room. Carpet is from CarpetRight (Link to be added)
We decided to go with a double bed for two reasons;
- We don’t have a spare bedroom and we have family that like to come and stay so It’s nice to be able to offer them her room with a double bed for a night and she can bunk in with her brother.
- Which little girl wouldn’t want a big double bed when offered haha.
This was the room when we first finished, but since then we have added a shelf and some pictures above the bed and changed the bedding.
In the past few months I’ve added some new accessories and here is the room at present:

Thank you for reading, would love to know your thoughts
Lots of Love, Danielle x
I really love what you’ve done here Danielle – your daughter must have been thrilled with it all. The mirrored wardrobes make it look a lot bigger than it really is too. I hadn’t seen this room much on your insta page so it was especially interesting to read. You’ve done great 🙂
